"A man's true delight is to do the things he was made for."
I took an East Indian dance class today. Fluid arms, sharp steps with the legs and feet, slight/controlled movements of the torso, very particularized positions with the hands and fingers, and specific eye movements to go along with the steps. Really interesting stuff, but anyway.
After taking the class, I felt the best I've felt in quite awhile. Motivated and content and whole and such. I say this as a dancer who has neglected my greatest passion for the past year of my life. It was a completely different feeling of happiness from, say, a good and supposedly happy weekend spent with friends. Just goes to show that when we don't do the things in life that we are meant for, we can (and probably will!) get stuck in a rut of unhappiness and negativity. Perhaps without even realizing it.
