In Homage to Edie

Born Edith Minturn "Edie" Sedgwick on April 20th in 1944. Socialite, model and actress; Edie became widely known as one of Andy Warhols' muses during the mid 60's and a staple at his "Factory" in NYC. Her personal style and image swept the fashion world by storm and for a brief time, she brought the spotlight of the bourgeois to the underground. Dubbed an "It Girl"; this "Poor little rich girl" endured a life of heartache and misery. A downward slope into drugs, bankruptcy and shady companions; Edie slipped further away from her once promising dream to a mentally unstable place. On November 16th, 1971 after suffering from depression, being admitted into multiple mental institutions, including a dependency on pills and alcohol; she died. The coroner ruled her death as "undetermined/accident/suicide."

Even though a dark shadow clouded Edie's life; her memory lives on through the light and inspiration that she brought upon the world. A fashion icon, queen of underground cinema, and an inspiration to many musicians and artists all across the world.

It just so happened that unknowing to the close proximity of Edies' birthday; two of Mokshas' crew where at last able to meet up with a group of talented artists and finally do a photo shoot that has been dreamed of for years. The theme of this photo shoot was based on non other than Edie and Andy. Right after we received the wonderful photos we where surprised to find out that it was in fact Edies' birthday!!

Here are some shots, hope you enjoy!
