Pardon my language but this recording of the Columbia/Barnard a cappella group, Bacchantae, singing Bitches Ain't Shit, music by Ben Folds, lyrics by Dr. Dre is kind of amazing and hilarious. Hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
Its strange when you stumble upon a new muse that you are shocked has taken you so long to find. That's how I feel about Anita Pallenber - actress, bohemian, fashion icon, friend and lover to multiple Rolling Stones. Anita is said to have had a large influence on The Stones' appearance as a band and their fashion they blossomed into.
This past June I was lucky enough to get a week off from work to visit a ranch I have been going to since I was nine. I thought I would tell you a little bit about it and share some photos with you.
Ekone Ranch has 1,260 acres in a land trust run by Sacred Earth Foundation, which supervises all the events that take place there. There are also summer camps that have been happening every year since 1985. Ekone Ranch was founded by an amazing man, Ray Michel who passed away almost three years ago. All of us at Ekone have been going through a transition of trying to preserve and progress along with the vision that Ray had for his lovely ranch. I first went to Ekone in 1999 and went back every summer as a camper, and then as an intern helping out with the summer camps. The last two years I have gone out there for work parties: helping them with projects in return for free board and maybe a ride or two if we are lucky!! The last number of times I have been there have been fun in a new way because I have been able to bring some of my friends with me and share with them one of the most important places to me in this world.
